Kale is the New Beef!

Greetings,

Do you love Kale? Did you know that the highest sources of protein are found in dark leafy greens like Kale, more then in meat. How does the cow get its protein and how is the cow meat and milk so full of protein? It all comes from that green grass the cow eats all day. You see, protein is all just condensed sunlight and that sunlight protein is all stored in the dark green grasses and greens of the earth and gardens. Wheat grass, spinach, collards and kale all have such tremendous nutritional value. Today, we gonna talk more about Kale! Now, this is a repost of another blog because its just so good! I love Kale so I'm happy to share the glories of Kale to others!

Kale is the New Beef

by rawgirltoxicworld

Kale is such a staple in my diet, that I often forget to sing its praises. A friend asked the other day, "So what's the big deal with kale, anyway?" After going through the laundry list of health benefits and nutrients, and ending with the declaration that kale is one of the most nutrient dense leafy greens on the planet, I realized I needed to show kale some public love. Apparently I am not the only one. Have you seen all the t-shirts and stickers available on the web for you to express your infatuation with kale? I used to work as a fashion designer, it seems ages ago, and black was the staple color that you compared everything to. One season grey may be the new black, the next it was red. Well in the old paradigm food world, beef and animal products were the standards, leaving all of us hippie veggie lovers on the outskirts like the weird kids in class. But times are a changing! Just like those popular kids in high school who were really cool back in the day but are now overweight and boring, those who preach the gospel of animal protein are starting to look shabbier than all the lean, energized, and bright-eyed vegetable eaters. Yeah, we were once the weird kids in class, but now we're totally hot and our sexiness is way more sustainable. As a part of this shift, kale is becoming what beef was, a staple. Although I sometimes still go through the checkout line and have to explain to the person ringing me up what Lacinato (also called Dino kale) or green kale is, more and more people are singing the gospel of kale because, frankly, it's awesome. Below are a couple of reasons you may want to join the new cool kids and learn more about purple, green, and dino kale and how you can incorporate them into your diet. If your already on team kale, I salute you. -XoXo Raw Girl

Supports Weight Loss. Kale is incredible low in calories, high in fiber, and has zero fat. Unlike a slab of steak on your plate, eating kale isn't going to add anything to your waistline. In fact the fiber and nutrients will promote better digestion and proper elimination, all while providing you with some essential nutrition.

Potent Anti-Inflmmatory Food. Kale is a power green leafy vegetable which solves a major issue that is plaguing the majority of people with chronic diseases or common skin issues: inflammation. Kale is an incredibly effective anti-inflammatory food and its omega-3 content adds to its anti-inflammatory properties. One cup of kale has 10% of the RDA of omega-3 fatty acids which is a key missing ingredient in standard modern diets leading to arthritis, autoimmune disorders, and other health problems.

Relieves Constipation. For those who have never incorporated kale into your diet, one of the first things you'll notice is that kale will get waste moving out of the body and induce a bowel movement fairly quickly. Why is this great? Because most people are full of s&%$# thus leading to chronic health problems, skin issues, and other conditions that could have been solved by getting waste moved out of the colon.

Nutritional Powerhouse. Kale is an excellent source of nutrition including vitamins A, C, K, E, B1, B2, B3, calcium, beta-carotene, phosphorous, iron, copper, magnesium, omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, and the carotenoid lutein. This cruciferous veggie is one of the richest sources of lutein which has been proven by research to be effective in protecting the skin from UV rays. The vitamin A content promotes the repair and maintenance of the skin, maintains healthy vision, and protects against lung and oral cancers.

The A Word. You cannot claim to be devoted to living a healthy, disease-free, and youth maintaining lifestyle if you are not getting enough foods with antioxidants. Kale is full of antioxidants which protect against cancers, fights free radicals, and promote youthfulness.

Kale Takes the Prize for Iron & Calcium. The next time a meat-eater taunts you for loving on your veggies you may want to serve up these facts to make them consider spending a little more time in the produce isle. Kale is high in calcium, in fact, kale has more calcium per calorie than milk and helps to prevent bone loss, osteoporosis, and maintain a healthy metabolism. So much for those "got milk" ads! That's why I always say "got chlorophyll?" In addition to this kale has more iron per calorie than beef! Although most people think of veggie lovers as being anemic, more and more meat eaters are becoming anemic and could probably use a little kale in their lives. Iron is important because it is necessary for cell growth, the formation of hemoglobin, transporting oxygen throughout the body, and more.

If your still reading, you can now see the amazing qualities of the mighty Kale! There are many varieties of kale. There is the traditional hearty Green Leaf, Red Kale, Scotch Curled, Leaf and Spear, Dwarf Blue, Ragged Jack, Cavolo Nero (black cabbage), Siberian Blue, Tuscan, Lacinato and Dinosaur Kale. Some have crinkly-leaves, others have smooth leaves.

Kale is a great base for green smoothies. Adding apples, pears, kiwis, or oranges creates a nice balance. Kale is available year round, but is most abundant through the late fall and winter with peak months December through February. There is just so much to love about Kale!

Dr. Sebi – Man with Cure for AIDS, Cancer, Sickle Cell, Herpes, Diabetes and more

I have heard of him before, but after watching the documentary “Last Days of Left Eye” I was turned on to the full story about Dr. Sebi. He is a man from Honduras who has the Cure for AIDS, Cancer, Sickle Cell, Herpes, Diabetes and every kind of illness, through a whole foods vegetarian diet and natural herbs, what he calls Electric Foods. He never went to school, college or medical school but has thousands of testimonials of healing people with HIV and AIDS, Cancer and several other illnesses. Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes of TLC was cured of Herpes by him and she was so moved by his knowledge that she went on to spread the word about him in every way she could. She also opened a Cultural/Healing Center for Children in Honduras before she passed away tragically. This all has inspired me to want to try Dr. Sebi’s products, which can be purchased on his website.

A New Star is Born

This is a solo song from Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes which I’m assuming was supposed to be on her solo album “Supernova” that her label decided not to release. She was so shattered they wouldn’t release it that she headed back to Honduras to break with life and begin her cleansing retreat and documentary about herself, during which she died tragically in a car crash. If her label had agreed to release her album she may still be here today. Regardless, as she says so many times “death is not the end, but a transformation” and this song has a very pure spirit and energy which she was trying to convey to the world before she left us here in the physical realm. She was truly a Supernova, a star that shines brighter then all the rest, a star that dies and transforms and births new stars.

Last Days of Left Eye

This documentary appeared in my recommended list on YouTube and I felt strongly moved to watch it immediately. I had no idea how amazing Left Eye was! This is so inspiring! I always felt connected to her, as TLC was one of my favz back in tha day, but seriously, you must watch the whole thing! I’m completely floored.. and bawled at the end. I had no idea she was vegetarian and had such a spiritual and humanitarian calling. I didn’t know of her connection to Dr. Sethi and Honduras, the children’s center she built there, her attempt at releasing a solo album and so many other fascinating things this documentary reveals. And even more amazing is she was personally in charge of this 30 day documentary and it was on the 27th day that she died tragically. I always loved her but now i feel like her spirit just reached out and touched me. She is helping me alot right now, because I am feeling so similar to how she felt during her last days. The pain in her heart and the beauty of her vision is something I resonate with so deeply it brings tears to my eyes just writing this. I love you Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, my angel.

Russian Jesus? Vissarion the Christ?

I just saw this video about Vissarion, the man in Siberia Russia who claims to be Jesus Incarnated, the Word of God, he has over 10,000 followers who most live in his spiritual community in Russia and they practice ecological harmony, a vegan diet, belief in reincarnation and UFOs and money is banned. This video documentary is very well done and leaves me fascinated and wanting to go visit myself to see and experience Vissarion and his community.

from Wikipedia:

Sergey Anatolyevitch Torop (Russian: Сергей Анатольевич Тороп, Sergej Anatolʹevič Torop; born January 14, 1961 in Krasnodar, Russian SFSR), known by his followers as Vissarion (Виссарион), is a Russian mystic. He founded and heads a religious movement known as the Church of the Last Testament with its head church in the Siberian Taiga in the Minusinsk Depression east of Abakan, in the southern Siberia Kuraginsk district of Krasnoyarsk territory. He has around 4,000 followers (called Vissarionites) in around thirty villages in the immediate vicinity of his base at Sun City and approximately 10,000 followers around the world.
Vissarion claims to be a reincarnation of Jesus. He teaches reincarnation, veganism, and the impending end of the world, or at least of civilization as we know it. Vissarion claims to have experienced a mystical revelation in May 1990, when he was 29. He first spoke publicly in Minusinsk on 18 August 1991. He founded the "Church of the Last Testament" (Церковь Последнего Завета Tserkov Poslednego Zaveta), also known as "Community of Unified Faith".

History

He was born in Krasnodar; after service in the Red Army, he settled in Minusinsk. He worked as a traffic policeman before losing his job in 1989. In 1991 he was "reborn" as Vissarion, the returned Jesus Christ. In his system this does not make him God, but instead the word of God. His religion combines elements of the Russian Orthodox Church with Buddhism, apocalypticism, collectivism, and ecological values. His followers observe strict regulations, are vegans, and are allowed no vices such as smoking or drinking alcohol and money is banned. The aim of the group is to unite all religions on Earth.
Tiberkul, the settlement in the Taiga, was established in 1994 on a territory of 2.5 square kilometres, and today counts some five thousand inhabitants, largely living autochthonous and on ecological principles. It is centered around the villages of Petropavlovka and Cheremshanka. The settlement has a three-tiered structure: the Town itself (Abode of Dawn), the Heavenly Abode, and the Temple Peak.
In October 1995, the religious association of Vissarion officially registered as the "Church of the Last Testament".

Personal life

Vissarion has two wives, and six children from two marriages. He has expelled the first wife and married the young nineteen year-old girl, who was brought up at Vissarion's home from the age of seven.
Vissarion has a sister named Irina. Vissarion considers Mary, mother of Jesus, as his own mother. The biological mother of Vissarion is a woman named Nadejda.

Interpretation

Vissarion's sect is estimated to have some ten thousand adherents, with claims of up to 50,000 adherents in eighty-three communities spread over 150 square kilometers..
Since 1992, biographer Vadim Redkin has published an annual volume detailing Vissarion's activities. Vissarion has attracted a number of followers from Germany's esoteric subculture, and seven volumes of Vadim's account have been translated into German.
In March 2010, UK TV channel, Channel 4 showed an hour long documentary about Vissarion and his followers.

JAH BLESS!!!
