On the road again...

So, I am on my way to Red Woods, California! So far we've been on the road for 2 days, I got to see my girl Cami, which was really nice! She & her friends welcomed us warmly! We were on our way to Steamboat Springs (Natural Hot Springs) today but we have car trouble.. Need a new alternator it seems... So we camped out at Days Inn for the night & will hopefully be on our way to the Hot Springs tomorrow and then onto Cali after that!

Abstract Art

I like this because its a very ancient and special symbol to me: Nataraja, Shiva, King of Dance, dancing the dance of destruction and creation again.
Yet the pic is abstract in its blurriness and it makes it even more mysterious then it already is...

Digital Art

This is some obvious digital art work. This one gives the impression that there is an orb or different dimension contained within the sphere. So while all the beautiful nature already gives it beauty, the orb effect adds a new dimension, possibly a supernatural atmosphere.

Sadness and Happiness

Here are the comments I got for this one:

I really like your two images. I think by making the sad image black and white and my having the girl blurred out a bit, it really adds to the mood of this piece. I like the fact that the happiness image is a bit random and really colorful. It gives it a lot of energy and makes me want to smile. ~Taylor Zitman

I really enjoy the first image because I see the sadness with the image of the little girl. I enjoy how you made her blurry to emphasize the sadness. The sand was a great use of texture for the background as well.
The second image really reminds me of happiness because of the bright colors used from the star fruit and sunset. Great use of line and space.-Julianne Schweitzer

The first thing I notice in the difference between these two is how brighter one is than the other. I appreciate the dullness of the sadness and colorfulness of the happiness. The one person in the sadness square also reminds me of being alone, therefore fitting the theme of sadness.

I really liked how you portrayed sadness in this imagery. The use of the blurred woman over the contrasting footprints gives a nice complimentary image. The use of the sun and the imagery of the fruit in the happiness images also help display happiness as a theme –Josh Tuthill

Arabian Sea Ocean Mermaid Angel Triple Sunset

This is my new photoshop pic for project 1. It has a picture of me in India on the Arabian sea, another with me and my friend Justin in the Arabian sea waving and the last of my daughter Ocean at the McCormick's Creek Waterfall in Indiana. The center sunset is from Captiva Island in Florida. There is a Triple Sunset going on and Ocean Mermaid Angel makes her special magical appearance.

This is my first photoshop picture I created. I like it because its symbolic. We have the Tibetan Monks in a ceremonial setting, and replacing the Dali Lama's seat of honor is the Green Goddess of antiquity. Most of the monks do not seem to notice, except one who is faced towards the Goddess, with arms in the air, experiencing Samadhi or Nirvana or Pure Bliss and Self-Realization, exemplified by the Flower of Awakened Consciousness.

I am finally getting a hang of photoshop! I've been wanting to learn this program for a while.

My Introduction

Known by many as Sakshi or Sakshi Gopal Das. He was initiated into the ancient Vedic order of the Gaudiya Vaishnava Sampradaya, which teaches and practices the ancient (Hari-Nama) Mantra Meditation of Sacred Chanting of Holy Names for spiritual healing and enlightenment. He lived and studied in several ashrams across North America, Hawaii, and India. In the summers of 2002 and 2003 he traveled across N. America with a traveling cultural festival called "The Festival of India" in which he was a main contributer of set-up and break-down, cultural plays, food distribution, chariot-parading, and sacred chanting.

He has been in several musical projects, and is presently a lead-singer in BARAKA (reggae-hiphop bhajan band), Santos and the Saints / The Roots Groundation Family, the Rastafari Nyahbinghi Livity Choir, and the Indiana University African American Choral Ensemble. Sakshi has lead Sacred Chants, Nyahbinghi, and Kirtan/Bhajans at many cultural festivals, gatherings, and yoga centers around the US, Hawaii, and India for over 10 years.

Sakshi is a student at Indiana University, forming an individualized major called: Comparitive Mythos, Ritual, and Sacred and Healing Sound. He is also working presently on a Bachlors in Parapsychic Sciences at the American Institute of Holistic Theology.

Sakshi is a ordained Reverend, Reiki Master, Sound Shaman Aromatherapist, Storytime / Mythic Yoga Teacher, Inspired Poet, Singer, and Musician.

He is also a multi-cultural cook and initiated the first All-Vegetarian Meal Plan at a Bloomington Day-care Center called the BDLC.

Sakshi was recently blessed with his Reggae-HipHop band BARAKA to perform at the Art of Living Silver Jubilee, which was one of the largest Interfaith and Human Values conferences in history, in Bangalore, India Febuary 2006. (www.artoflivingmidwest.org/baraka)
